Extend Your Wi-Fi Range With a Parabolic Reflector | PCWorld: "

Hi MicTig. Thanks for the great question. The answer to that depends on the layout of the space you're using the router in. Reflectors like this are useful in situations where you have a long, narrow space, such as a ranch-style home or a narrow apartment. By focusing the signal in a single direction, you can increase the range in that direction while reducing the amount of radio waves that escape in undesired directions. Naturally, if your router were placed in the center of your workspace, reflectors like this would be unhelpful."
